About the Artist

Cher Anderson is a wildlife artist and wildlife photographer who’s hyper-realistic paintings are a mirror of her immense love and dedication to the conservation of nature and wildlife. Anderson’s work is acutely rich in detail,  and the illusion of movement through majestic poses, and lively bold color tones. Her intimate relationship with these natural settings as a photographer is discovered through her use of light, layers, and focus as she carefully calls attention to the characteristics that will enhance the depiction of her subjects.

Cher Anderson’s predisposition for wildlife traces back to her childhood years, an inclination that only seems to have grown over time. True to her spirit of wildlife conservancy and rehabilitation, Anderson donates most of her proceeds from her art sales to conservation efforts.

Throughout her life as a fine artist, she has learned from the masters by studying their technique and applying it to improve her final works of art. She is an avid conservation supporter and a Signature Member and Ambassador of Artists for Conservation, Vancouver, B.C. A great portion of significant of her art is donated to different organizations that work with endangered species and their preservation. Cher began her journey as a fine artist in 1980, and her art has evolved into photo-realistic paintings that require the finest detailed brushwork and hundreds of hours to accomplish the end result.

“My passion for nature’s beauty, chaos, and wonder has to lead me to create images that bring to life the spirit of what I see in quiet places and try to make you feel the awe and the essence of its beauty. Life is a miracle – enjoy it, experience it, and share it! I have been blessed with a never-ending need to be a better person, contribute to wildlife conservation, and give to others. I hope to one day be remembered by my love for the animals I painted.” – Cher Anderson
