With textural contrasts, very expressive use of form, line, and proportion, Louise Giblin’s sculptures create a multi-layered world that invokes power and dynamism inspired in the idea to sculpt what she considers ones armor as a celebration of strength and achievements. Her work is predominantly figurative, creating detailed sculptures that reproduce the details of the original reference while at the same time introducing new concepts as her interpretation and the story of her subjects and their journey. In her series “Body Casting Olympians”, she created life casts modeled after 5 Olympic athletes, a topic that includes the physical power of these subjects.
