About the Artist
Photographer, illustrator, artist, and designer Louise Wannier is fascinated by observing patterns and the way that light interacts with both nature and our intense, dynamic urban landscapes. “The world is complex and with every piece I create, my goal is to capture and present visually the energy and spirit I observe that exists in everything. Wannier’s work masterfully depicts both the presence of abstract patterns within natural and manmade objects and modern structures.
Many objects and places can be revisited with renewed light and creativity as the light and moments change. Others are truly moments captured in time as the light, energy, and expression are only present in the moment the picture was taken. “I love the discovery too of how the camera shifts our focus and emphasis from what our eyes natively see.”
As a professional designer, Wannier creates her own textile art prints and collections for fashion and the home under her label LOUIS JANE™ (LouisJane.com and LouisJaneDesign on Social Media). As a successful entrepreneur, Wannier has used her multi-faceted education as a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Textile Design as well as graduate of the UCLA Anderson School MBA program and the California Institute of Technology, with a BS in Astronomy, to create consumer products, and innovative technology solutions that make lives easier. She was also co- founder of Surrogate Gallery Projects with Holly Boruck.
The textiles and surface designs Wannier develops for LOUIS JANE™ come from her experience as a professional photographer and from her original illustrations and paintings. Her master level creativity and business success can be attributed to her dedication to her art and to the invention of new and beautiful ways to see and experience life made better.
