Artist of the Week
Parul Srivastava is a Singaporean Artist of Indian Origin. She has been painting since childhood and professionally for the last 10 years. She trained her skills at Art Space and at NAFA where she completed “Certificate in Western Abstract Art” from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Singapore in December 2016 with distinction.
Parul is Banking Technology Professional who follows her passion in arts, she strongly believes in Therapeutic aspects of art especially among senior citizens, she actively volunteers her skills as an Interest Group leader for Painting Interest group to engage Senior citizens in art learning, supported by Active Ageing Council and Simei Central Neighbourhood Committee, Singapore. The group has donated over 100 artwork for raising funds towards needy patients benefits in collaboration with community hospitals.
What are the core and fundamental themes and concepts of your Art?
“I create abstract paintings inspired by the essence of nature and life’s emotional journeys; I aim to convey a message to inspire positive emotion during difficult times.”
Have you experienced any significant changes in your work this last year?
“Yes, art is always evolving, and so is artist and audience.”
Where are you from, and how has that influenced your Art?
“I am an artist from Singapore. My Art reflects my travel experiences, interactions with people, cultures, and places. In the journey of life, what we come across leaves an evolving impact on the mind and creative expressions, eventually becoming a natural part of the creative process and journey.”
