There are hundreds of days honoring different things that many of us find important.
There is Administrative Assistant Day, or International Pancake day, to the more somber days like Veteran’s Day, honoring those who serve. Many of us can agree that no matter what the day, there is something extraordinary about setting aside some time to appreciate something that matters to us. What about Earth Day?
Earth Day is no different, and the importance of its significance has only increased in necessity. Our planet continues to face many different challenges, and each of us has a responsibility to understand better what our planet needs.
So, why is Earth Day important? It is a chance for us to pause and remember the great things she does for us each day.
Remembrance is something that brings each of us back into the moment. It gives us pause to consider things that, in our busyness, we have often overlooked. This planet, our Earth, has always been here for us. It can be an easy thing to take for granted a planet that homes us, provides air to breathe, and gives us all the space we need. Earth day helps remind us that it is crucial to recognize Mother Earth for the gift it is.
That is what makes Earth day so unique and so important. It brings us back to the moment. Each year our environment gets a little more precarious, and yet each Earth day is a new opportunity to recognize the footprint we make on our planet every day. You can make a huge difference by being a part of Earth day and taking time to adjust your thinking, evaluate and adjust your lifestyle, and be present in each day, knowing that every day is a chance to give life back to our planet.
