Light with a Personal Purpose
Petals become radiant structures, their curves layered into fields of luminous color. In David Fleshman’s digital art, natural forms expand into immersive visual experiences. Based in Noblesville, Indiana, David combines digital photography with layered digital painting to explore a subject close to his heart: healing through nature and light.
Growing up with cerebral palsy and asthma shaped his understanding of the difference art can make to the atmosphere of a medical or public space. That experience informs the intention behind his work. Color, detail, and illumination become ways of offering viewers an encounter with beauty and a moment of attention.
Nature Transformed Through Color
In Illuminated Poppy, backlit petals reveal delicate internal structures. Reds, pinks, and luminous pale bands gather around a flowerlike center, giving the image a sense of unfolding movement. David’s interest in fragility and resilience becomes visible through light passing into and through the floral form.
Green Orchid Bloom celebrates a green goddess orchid through luminous green and pink hues. Its bright center and sweeping contours encourage the eye to explore the intricate character of a bloom. Dual Lotus Blooms brings two entwined blossoms into a kaleidoscopic arrangement, where vibrant color and intersecting patterns suggest continual transformation.
All three works were created in 2025 as digital media for canvas wrap, metal, acrylic, and paper. David considers the physical presence of his images as well as their digital construction, including the ways different surfaces interact with light. This attention extends the encounter beyond the screen and into the space around the artwork.
A Journey Returning to Its Roots
David began his artistic journey at eight in Las Vegas. His education includes degrees in Graphic Technology, Graphic Design and Media, and Art from the College of Southern Nevada and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Eleven years as an audiovisual sound technician and collaboration with the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art also form part of his creative background.
In September 2026, Noblesville Creates named him Artist Entrepreneur of the Year, and he presented Digital Organic: Healing Through Nature and Light at the Stephenson House Gallery. His relationship with ArtTour International reaches back to 2021, making this anniversary an occasion of personal continuity.
Within that continuing journey, David’s images hold a clear, generous intention: to give natural beauty a luminous presence in the places where people live, gather, and look for renewal.
