An Inner Landscape in Motion

Curves gather into circles, color flows across broad bands, and unexpected shapes suggest a world continually taking form. Kari Veastad’s paintings invite the eye into an inner landscape—one shaped by feeling, movement, and an intuitive response to beauty.

A Norwegian autodidact painter, Kari began working in oil in 2009 and moved to intuitive acrylic painting on canvas in 2016. Her practice draws inspiration from the beauty around her and from the interaction of body, soul, and spirit. Color becomes a way of exploring that relationship, giving unseen experiences a lively visual presence.

Power, Enthusiasm, and Fire

In Enthusiasm, an acrylic painting on canvas measuring 80 × 100 cm, rounded forms and sweeping bands move through a densely arranged field. Blues, pinks, greens, and warm orange tones create changing relationships across the surface. The viewer can follow a curve into a new area, then find another shape that redirects the journey.

Power, also 80 × 100 cm and painted in acrylic on canvas, brings circular forms into a composition of flowing color. A pink spiral rises above darker green and turquoise passages, creating a sense of concentrated energy. The title offers a point of entry while leaving the image open to a personal response.

In Fire, measuring 50 × 70 cm, orange and yellow forms rise against horizontal bands and a cooler upper field. Curving green shapes move through the foreground. The warm colors give the painting an elemental intensity, suggesting an energy that can be felt as much as followed with the eye.

An Expanding Artistic Journey

Between 2020 and 2025, Kari’s exhibition activity reached cities and events from Rome and New York to Dubai and South Korea. Her recognition includes the Global Masterpiece Award in 2024 and the International Prize Leonardo da Vinci in 2025. Her work has appeared in international art books, and in 2023 she joined Accademia Italia in Arte Del Mondo Associazione Culturale in Lecce.

Through that expanding journey, intuitive painting remains at the heart of her practice. Kari’s canvases offer the pleasure of discovery: colors finding a relationship, forms emerging within movement, and an inner experience becoming something we can share.
