Mieke Vandenbulcke is an artist whose captivating works explore our perceptions through the use of color, composition, and vibrant imagery. Growing up in Central Africa, Mieke’s passion for art took root and later developed through painting and photography lessons in Cape Town, South Africa. After pursuing a career in IT and raising her children, Mieke resumed her artistic pursuits in 2004 and studied at the Sint-Lukas Academy in Brussels.
Mieke’s art is inspired by her natural surroundings and urban environment, with recurring themes of Africa, Brussels, and her local area in Schaerbeek. Her works showcase a masterful use of color and vibrant compositions that capture the viewer’s attention. Her work ‘Josaphat’ was recently awarded at the 2021 London Art Biennale, a delightful surprise for the artist.
