“I’m Afraid of America Redux” by Nard Lee.

Lee has always been aware of how the outside world views people who look like him, and his work reflects this. He wants to challenge conventional notions of beauty and power by celebrating diversity and recognizing the beauty that comes with it. His pieces are often emotionally charged, touching on oppression, civil rights, and social justice. He creates powerful images that encourage us to think more deeply about the world around us.

Nard Lee’s artwork often centers around the idea of contrast. He creates beautiful and challenging works, producing complex art that can be appreciated in many different ways. To achieve this, he uses a combination of materials in each piece.

Acrylic paints are Lee’s primary choice of medium. He applies the paint with bold brushstrokes and texture to create a strong visual contrast. He also incorporates oil pastels into pieces, which offer a softer contrast against the bold acrylics.

Chalk is another popular medium used by Lee. This allows him to create lighter tones and line work, which gives his pieces further complexity. Chalk is also used to develop a sense of movement in the work and emphasize certain composition elements.

The combination of these mediums within Lee’s artwork creates a unique and dynamic visual language. The intensity and contrast of the materials used are integral to the artwork’s message, allowing Lee to explore ideas of duality, loss, and hope. His powerfully expressive art showcases bold strokes, words, letters, and many other elements that help him get his message across. In addition, the texture of his works is often intentionally left visible to express a certain feeling or emotion. Using these materials and techniques, Nard Lee creates visually captivating artworks.

Nard Lee begins his creative process with a question he can’t answer based on what was previously believed to be fact. He starts with bold, broad strokes that begin to gather detail as he progresses, always focused on the question that he can’t answer. This allows him to look at things from a unique perspective and challenge the status quo.

When he feels that the piece is close to complete, he starts over with his own beliefs of the truth, working through the details until it is complete. Finally, he uses a combination of acrylic, chalk, and oil pastel within his artwork to accurately capture the message he is trying to convey.

Ultimately, Nard Lee hopes that his artwork will make people think about themselves and their world in a different light. By challenging the accepted narrative, he aims to reveal the truth that often lies beneath it. As a result, his works are powerful and stimulating and sure to leave you pondering your beliefs.

Nard Lee’s artwork is dynamic and ever-changing. He is constantly pushing himself to develop new techniques and explore new themes. As he continues to evolve his art and broaden his reach, it will be exciting to see how Nard Lee’s work affects our view of ourselves and the world around us.
